Anonymous Call to Pay for a Payday Loan: Scam or Authentic ?

Past night I got a call from California; where I reside; about a payday loan. The call was such that it jolted me out of my bed. There was an anonymous caller who was saying that he is a Washington based lawyer and I have not paid for my payday loan and if I don’t pay it, serious legal actions would be taken against me. I had taken a No Teletrack Payday Loan 4 months ago which to my knowledge I have paid the entire loan amount including the interest rate.

This call was a bolt from the blue for me and I really don’t know what I should do. The caller then gave me the details about the account number where an amount of 1000 dollars have to be transferred via wire within 72 hours of time. My anxiety level was increased to 3 folds when he said everything about my personal details; where I live, work et al. Can anybody give me some suggestions about what to do in such a circumstance?

As a matter of fact, many people are receiving such calls to pay the loan which they have already paid for. In this situation, you should get all the details pertaining to the loan ready. Next time when the caller asks you to pay for the no teletrack loans that you have taken, ask him regarding all the details regarding your loan like registration number, date of loan approval etc. The anonymous caller would not be able to tell you any such details. Even if he tells you everything, then also relax because when you had applied for the loan via online, these people get to know about everything; don’t know from where.

The immediate step that you should take is to call the people at the loan lending agency from where you procured the loan and verify from the bills of yours that you have cleared the loan amount or not. The bills would surely tell about the complete repayment of the loan without any kind of deferred payment and hence there is no need to worry thence onwards.
